Travel reviews for Thai Bamboo Guesthouse Resort
Date of stay: Aug 12, 2015
Accommodation and facilities:
MY Wife and I stayed in this resort yesterday the 10th of june 2015. We had booked to stay for 2 nights, however we checked out today after just one night. There aren t many good things to say about this place. First it is very difficult to find. I would suggest that the owner should put co-ordinates on his website, and also give the co-ordinates to his booking agents! When you do eventually find the place even with co-ordinates. the sign is so small about 30cm by 20cm..you can very easily drive past it.
We arrived about 11am and booked into the place.MY first impression was not so good..The owner wasn t there, and the woman did not speak any English. ok its Thailand! I had a look around at the grounds, it was like a long forgotten park. badly in need of a couple of very good gardeners.UNKEMPT is a word I would use. parts were very overgrown and in need of urgent attention.! The open kitchen left a lot to be desired, not clean, in fact quite shabby and dirty!
Again no sign of the owner, even though my wife had phoned him to ask directions, we eventually arrived after getting a very kind Thai to guide us there on here motor cycle. The swimming pool looked clean though, it would have been nice to see properley tended gardens.
Our room was a big disapointment! first of all the bathroom. There were human faeces on the toilet bowl and rim.The sink was stained with what looked like blood stains.I like a clean bathroom, as does my wife. I checked the windows for security..all of them I had difficulty locking as the locks were not properly in place! The mosquito guard on one window was faulty, and you could get a small bird in the gap. There was a safe in a cupboard with no key to close or open it so useless.A hi-fi on a shelf that did not work,,well the radio didn t. I checked the TV this did not work at all,so that was a dissapointment to me and my wife. My wife complained to the Thai lady and she said that she would sort out our grievances. We had told the owner that we would be bringing our small dog with us (properly house trained, and very friendly) We were not informed that there were dogs living in the resort that were not very friendly towards other dogs,,ie guests dogs..so that created a problem as the resort dogs were allowed to roam free.So we had to carry our dog in the grounds..The Thai man who was employed there handed me a large stick to ward of the resort dogs.
There was a small bar, that was unnatended during our stay We decided to go out to the beach and did a bit of shopping, my wife bought some toilet cleaner, and some insect repellant, red ants everywhere! We got back 5pm. still no one there to sell me a nice cool beer at the bar.
The toilet had not been cleaned as there were still faeces on the rim, and the TV still did not work. So we went out for a meal after I had spent about 45 minutes cleaning the bathroom. We got back about 8-30pm the bar was still unattended. and the TV still did not work..we decided to check out today a day early.. my advice steer clear of this resort

Nice little guest resort outside Cha-Am away for the tourist crowd. I stayed there for 6 nights and looked at the country side and the neighbour towns. Kind and help full people with good knowledge about the local area. Very nice with bicycle so you can get around. Alternativ it is possible to rent a motorbike, they all use them, but reminder they drive on the left side of the road. Thanks for a nice stay, Jesper

Accommodation and facilities:

Accommodation and facilities:
I have stayed at Thai Bamboo Resort on many previos occasions. As an expat living in Thailand I like to stay at this resort to escape the pollution and craziness of Bangkok. On this occasion my family from New Zealand (Party of 4) accompanied me for three nights. My family had a stop over in Thailand on their way to UK from NZ.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thai Bamboo and in particular enjoyed the safe family swimming pool. Rudi, the owner was on call 24/7 and accommodated our special needs promptly and courteously.
I found the Thai Bamboo Resort; restful, offering a high standard of accommodation, gave attentive service at a reasonable price and located in beautiful environs.
I would unreservedly recommend Thai Bamboo Resort to any traveler s visiting Thailand or Bangkok residents wishing a few days away from Bangkok.
Reservation service:
Excellent communication in English.
